| National Brownfield Association Expands Internationally |
The National Brownfield Association (NBA), a not-for-profit, educational organization, has expanded internationally to form the Ontario Chapter under the newly established NBA Canada. "This is the first chapter established in Canada and the eighth NBA chapter in the last 30 months. Both public and private sector organizations recognize the important role the NBA and NBA Canada chapters play in gathering the stakeholders to advance the local brownfield market," says Mayor Ted Salci, City of Niagara Falls and Ontario Chapter president. This is a growing national trend to help improve the economic conditions of cities by focusing on the redevelopment of these blighted properties. With chapters now established in the US and Canada, the NBA will work to improve cross-border brownfield trade opportunities in both countries. The NBA is planning its first Canada-U.S. Brownfield Summit June 2-3, 2005 in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
