The Office of Brownfields Cleanup and Redevelopment at The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a publication entitled, State Brownfield Insurance Programs . Prepared by Kristen R. Yount of Northern Kentucky University and Peter B. Meyer of the University of Louisville, the document describes state programs either in existence or under development in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, California, and Pennsylvania.

The report includes information on other states considering the possibility of establishing environmental insurance programs. The report also analyzes key concerns raised by those involved in the efforts, and offers recommendations for others exploring program development to encourage the cleanup and reuse of brownfields.
